In my final draft of my first essay, I used quotes from the articles that we had to read and annotate in class. I would highlight quotes that could possibly help me support my thesis and main points for this essay. The quotes I highlighted were ones that I thought were important and could be used as evidence to support my opinions. In this essay, I talked about how metaphors have the power to influence someone else’s mind and how they think. While writing my body paragraphs, I remembered that I marked quotes to help me support my ideas like how doctors use metaphors in order for patients to cope with illnesses or how it makes doctors better communicators toward patients and family members. Highlighting the quotes I could use in my essay worked because I actually used good ones to support my main points.
